Ride to Rutland

Ride to Rutland
Just another couple of  Sunday Ride pics

Apologies for not knowing all riders names (especially the chairman’s – sorry Rob!) but a day out for the pillion ladies as 7 bikes, their riders and 3 pillion passengers made their way on a beautiful April day over to Rutland Water stopping mid route at Denver Mill Restaurant/Coffee Shop (highly recommended) for supposedly coffee but some couldn’t resist the delicious food on offer and tried more filling food!

Slight confusion over where to meet on arrival at Rutland Water but eventually “flocking” to the bird reserve where the second pic was taken.

Apologies to the rest of the group for me being slightly less social than might be expected but with a brother living in Oakham some 3 miles away I had family socializing obligations to undertake.

Returning home solo later in the day and just dodging the the rain clouds and finding the Swaffham bypass filling station closed for rebuilding works I am happy to confirm the old “Duke Multi” does 220.6 miles on a tankful – no more!!! Ah well time for a nice stroll to a farmer up the road who after delivering two lambs in front of me (sorry no photos of that!) was able to produce a gallon of the necessary bringing the old Duke back to life for the last 25 mile stint home.

Sunday Morning Ride, 27th March 2011

Just a shot of perhaps the youngest rider James (pillion I hasten to add!) with somewhat older members Keith (dad) and Alex on Sunday 27th ride in front of Blickling Hall (where else!)

Plus a black rose between two thorns (bmw-ducati-bmw!)

Kind regards
