Post Happy New Year

On the evening of the 31st Dec, I will be celebrating, Hogmany, with malt whisky and good friends. On the 1st Jan I am jetting off to sunnier climates, for a well deserved break.

Therefore, I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very happy and prosperous new year !

I have taken it upon my self to organise a motorcycling trip to Scotland, the land of my birth, and somewhere, I have ridden previously.

It will depart on the 2nd June and return on the 9th. The plan is to stop off, in a youth hostel type accommodation, in the borders for one night, then five nights, in the Trossachs, in a self catering establishment. We will then split the journey back, by again, stopping over in either the borders, or the north of England.

I will aim to have a nightly accommodation price of about £30, plus food and beer.

In order to organise, I need definite numbers and sexes. To that end, I need to know, by 31st Jan, who will commit to the trip, with a non-refundable £100, per person.

Once I have the numbers and deposits, I will book the accommodation. Once booked, I will ask you all to pay the outstanding balance.

When we have definite numbers, we can then discuss, how we are going to feed ourselves etc, and if you have somewhere in particular, you want to visit, tell me and I can plan routes. If you have no preferences, I will plan routes of about 150-200 miles for each day.
Whilst I am away, could somebody, arrange, to have this post put in the newsletter ?

Happy New Year 🙂 . I did warn you this is not the liveliest of Forums 😉

When you say "a self catering establishment" is it your intention to stay in one place? Are you a good cook? 😉

The idea is to base ourselves, in a location, which is well sited for daily rides. Saves packing up, and booking one night at a time.
But Peter, catering as well, you dont want much, do you !

If we get any interest, we will work out something for food. BBQ is always a winner lol
