As Peter made an effort a couple of weeks ago I'll try and keep the ball rolling......

Only 5 riders turned up this morning, Myself, Peter, Paul and new members Tom and Jo. Presumably the early frost and fog had deterred most though, standing in the car park at 9.25am, it was actually quite pleasant with a touch of sunshine taking the edge off.

Anyway we set off as one group on the advertised route and things were fine until Brooke on the B1332. Here The temperature noticeably dropped a few degrees....the village pond was frozen and where the road was still in shade there were frosty/icy looking patches......so took it steady to the A146 where we stopped for a debrief. Not much discussion was required to agree on an early coffee stop a Mac D's on the Gillingham roundabout, to which Jo led the way.

Quick debrief followed by a more in depth discussion on how to put the world in general to rights before heading home.

Hope Jo enjoyed the ride and hope to see you all again next week.

Just to keep the ball rolling (wheels turning?) I'll add my tuppence worth .....

Frosty Sunday rides seem to bring out the hardened ..... new member! Well done to Jo (Yamaha cruiser - Dragstar?) for enduring freezing finger tips.

The drop in temperature as we rode further away from Norwich (East/South?) was confirmed by Paul's shin bruising, unfathomable indicators, still getting used to, new'ish GS 1200, which said the temperature had dropped to 1.5 degrees (approx.!). Matt's suggestion and the group's decision to curtail the ride was both sensible, as we would have been heading back onto frosty lanes, and welcome, as I got the chance to enjoy a tasty (junk) McMuffin. 😀 . Paul refrained from food this week as he'd already had 4(!) slices of toast with peanut butter for breakfast - but they were small slices, apparently. 😎

Not sure Tom counts as a new member. With a 1-2-1 ride with me last weekend and this being his second Group ride he's almost an old hand now. 😉

Hopefully, the turn out next week will be enough to impress any more new members.

Sorry Paul M, no pictures. As in a fortnight ago I hadn't expected there to be many people there. I'll try and take my camera more often.

BTW, my posting a couple of weeks ago was not meant as the first of regular, Observer reports on Group rides. Just merely the mention of laudable events - in these cases, new members turning up in marginal weather conditions.

Anyone can share their thoughts and comments on a group rides - what they enjoyed, didn't enjoy, favourite routes and roads (I didn't get to do my favourites today - the 11's, 1123, 1117 et al), suggestions for alternative destinations/coffee stops, etc etc. The Group will always welcome feedback.
