Hurray!!!!! At last a decent day for my Associate Tom (apparently he reads these posts as I keep mentioning him! 😉 ) to do a ride with 'sparkle'. His reward (if you can call it that) for doing just that is a cross-check ride with Chief Observer Matt next Saturday - no pressure there then!
Although a cross-check is perhaps not necessary, I think it is good practice for the nerve wracking experience of the Advanced test - ask my ex-Associate Alan (who was in our group today) who was a bag of nerves on his test and still passed.
Both Alan and Ian gave good rides as well with Ian asking for a check of his riding in the next few weeks as he felt a bit rusty from not riding much recently.
Ian has booked a space on the Martin Hopp Machine Skills day at RAF Marham (as well as Cadwell) so if anyone was thinking of doing it but didn't fancy being 'on their own' then there will be at least one member from the group attending - so no excuses, JDI.
Big Al was asking for more info regarding the Better Riding Day at Cadwell (with Martin Hopp) and my explanation was "it's just a day of riding on a road with perfect surface and no traffic - an opportunity to get to know your bike without having 101 other things to think about when riding on the public highway". He seemed OK with that. 😎 .
The good weather, not surprisingly, meant that there was a good turn out for this morning's ride - rough guess 5 to 6 groups, so 20+ riders, good to see. AND - everyone ended up at the same place as shown on the route! - Bonus 😀 .
Special mention for the members of the committee who turned out - Paul M (doing his David Bailey impression), Dave J and Dave M - good to see you. Oh, and of course Matt J - but then he's always there. Hopefully the Guzzi got back home with all it pieces still attached 😉 😀
