A good turn out of around 14-ish riders for a fresh feeling start to the day.
Apart from a touch of drizzle somewhere along the route, it was a good ride ending up at sunny-ish Wells and a delicious sausage roll in the refurbished (under new management?) Beach Cafe.
The group i was riding in today consisted of Nigel (seriously infectious enthusiasm), Matt (Chief and Senior Observer) and Richard (Motorcycle instructor - business partner of Matt's).
Nigel put in a good, thoughtful ride and his debrief in Dereham was both constructive and entertaining. 😎
I then led for the rest of the route. It's important for all members of the Group, perhaps especially Observers, to put themselves up for scrutiny as it is all too easy to either lose that edge from not riding regularly,or pick up bad habits from riding lots and becoming complacent.
Fortunately I came through reasonably unscathed, although a suggestion to treat farm entrances with the same caution as driveways, for instance when planning an overtake, was put forward for discussion.
A good ride home using a long way round (Blakeney, Holt, Aylsham, Horstead to Norwich) with the bonus of getting home before it started raining properly! 🙂
