Post Group ride 20/05

Can't believe it's the end of May. Feels more like March except this March was warmer. All things considered a good turnout and a few new faces to welcome to the group. Gavin got us organised and I rode with Dave and Aiden (who's thinking about joining). Thought I would lead the first bit and take us the short route (honest) to Aylsham. The old Guzzi was singing though and I decided to keep going. By the time we reached Reepham the "burn" had set in across the shoulders and the wrists were crying enough so stopped outside the garden centre in Bawdeswell.........the temptation was too much and we decided to have coffee and walnut cake there. Obviously we had to try and be home for the start of the GP so couldn't continue to Hunstanton...sorry if you missed us. Aiden led on the way back on his K1600 (getting a bit common now aren't they) and proved to be a more than capable rider who hopefully we'll see again in the near future.

Hi all. I arrived real early !! Matt helped get things organized with me, as there was a smaller than usual turnout. The weather was OVercast and i hoped the rain would hold for a little while at least as i was still scrubbing the new tyres in.My group saw Alan on his Bmw and Ted, on another Bmw. Both had pillions,Becky was a new rider who Alan had brought along to see what we are all about, with a view to joining. I gave Ted a quick intro as to what to expect as he was also along to have a look at what the group is all about. He also said he would like me to take a look at his riding and give him some tips.
We set off along the ring road and Ted did a good job of negotiating the traffic. We headed for Aylsham and stopped just beyond the garden centre at Bawdeswell. After a short debrief in which i highlighted a few minor positional changes i felt would help, we set off again. This time i was to lead with Alan following me and Ted therefore able to follow along my lines. I tried not to make a complete rick of it and at the next stop we discussed my positioning further and it was agreed that Ted would lead once again and see if it had helped. We came up upon some traffic and after managing to get past we arrived in Hunstanton.Coffee and some more discussion followed and Ted thanked both Alan and myself for a good mornings ride.
I returned with Alan via Kings Lynn,Gayton,Swaffham where we said r goodbyes, then Watton,Wymondham,Bungay.Home!
160miles from Norwich all in and i didn`t need to stop for petrol once !! although the reserve light did come on near Beccles.
