There didn't seem much point posting a report for last week's Group ride as only Kyle and I turned up. Was there something happening we didn't know about? 😉

Anyway, the turn out today was back to, and possibly better than, the norm, even without the few hardy riders doing the Tin Butt Challenge set by Gazza (report to follow?)

So, my Group consisted of my new Associate Will (Crosstourer), Nigel (650 FMX?) and Dave (K1300S). Or that's what I thought, until after all the other Groups had left and there was a little lost soul called Paul (GS1200) who somehow had managed to not get included in a group. 😯

Will led through to the Angel pub on the B1332. The ride was complicated by numerous cyclists taking part in a race. However Will put in a creditable ride and the debrief was both informative and amusing - especially when I asked Nigel to walk off into the weeds to demonstrate to Will that there are times when you can see round a corner. 😉

Paul led us through to Halesworth. If my memory serves me right, the last time I described Paul's riding I included his comment about 'still learning about riding the GS'. Well today Paul demonstrated that he has indeed learnt all about the GS, as his ride was a fine example to Will of a top rate test standard ride - Planning, Positioning, Pace, and Progressive. 'Smooth', according to Bill (after going through a few other ride related words starting with S 😉 )

Dave led the last part of the ride. Unfortunately, for some unknown reason my indicators decided to 'go weird', which caused difficulties as I was being relied on for directions. Unfortunately I was unaware of the fault and we had been heading away from the original planned destination for some time.

There seemed little point in going all the way back so we decided to call it a day - I headed home to try and figure out the problem with my indicators only to find that when I got home they had 'as if by magic' fixed themselves and were working perfectly again! So, how do I fix something that isn't broken! 😕 This is a perfect opportunity for Matt to come back about something wrong with my bike, especially after the leg-pulling he endured today about his Guzzi (it did take a few goes to start though 😉 )

Best ride out ever. I was in the same group with Peter, Will, Paul and David.. The observation and chat at our stops was really good, and made me think really hard about how much I can improve, and more importantly how I can do it. Pauls stint was blinding. Thats what I am aiming for. Lovely pace, great acceleration sense and spot on position.
It made me really chuffed to see Will improving by the second, as I met and rode with him the first time that he came to the club, and wanted him to see what it was really all about, and what NAM stands for. NORFOLK ADVANCED MOTORCYCLISTS., and with Peters expert observation, and Pauls demo ride, he got that in spades. Happy days and a good start!! I loved it. Off to Cadwell on wednesday for the Martin Hopp thingy, so lets get safely zooming. Bye!!
