Sad news, many of you will remember Bruce Harrison and his red VFR – he even made it part of his e-mail address “[email protected]… Bruce, a popular and regular member of NAM for many years, had been slowly recovering from cancer and had undergone several operations; sadly Bruce died last Monday (20 February) in the end succumbing to septicaemia.
He had been suffering from cancer for over two years but amazingly never made a big show about it although it did restrict his bike riding. I met Bruce and his wife Nicola last October purely by accident when on the pier at Southwold; he looked frail but as ever cheerful and chatty. His last NAM club night was of course the Christmas Quiz where he participated with vigour, unfortunately not for the winning team but as they say it’s the taking part that matters, as did it with Bruce.
He was a keen rider and was both IAM and RoSPA qualified. Bruce, always ready to talk – about bikes of course – will be missed by everyone who knew and remembered him. Bruce old buddy at only 52 you were far too young to go.
The funeral is Monday 5th March at 10.40am.
